How does Speed Test work?

Speed Test measures the actual speed of your internet connection by downloading and uploading test data to our server.

  • Ping - response time between your device and the server
  • Download Speed - how fast you receive data from the internet
  • Upload Speed - how fast you send data to the internet

Speed Test - Online Internet Speed Check

Check your internet connection speed for free. Measure download speed, upload speed, and ping. Find out your real speed from your ISP in seconds.

Why Check Internet Speed?

  • Verify if speed matches what ISP promised
  • Diagnose slow internet problems
  • Choose optimal tariff plan
  • Check Wi-Fi connection quality

How to measure internet speed correctly

  1. Prepareclose torrents, video calls and Windows updates — they eat the channel and skew the result.
  2. Use a cableon 100+ Mbps plans Wi-Fi is often the bottleneck — wired tests reveal the real ISP speed.
  3. Run the testmeasurement goes to the nearest CDN server — a typical test takes 15–30 seconds.
  4. Take 2–3 samplesat different times of day. ISP peak is 7–11 PM.

Example use cases

New-plan verification

Subscribed to "500 Mbps" but only see 120? Log the result — it is leverage for a plan recalc with the ISP.

Office Wi-Fi diagnosis

Test from different corners. If the meeting room sees 200 Mbps and a far office sees 10, it is time for a second AP or mesh.

Video-call readiness

Zoom/Meet HD needs 3 Mbps upload and ping <50 ms. Jitter >30 ms causes glitches.

Streaming fitness

Twitch/YouTube 1080p60 needs steady 6 Mbps up. Check headroom before going live.

Common mistakes & fixes

Speed is half the plan
Usually old Wi-Fi (802.11n) or a 100 Mbps router. Test wired to the modem — if it is fine, replace the AP.
Ping jumps from 20 to 200 ms
That is jitter. Usually other devices saturating the link or ISP backbone congestion at peak hour.
Upload much lower than download
Normal for ADSL, DOCSIS and mobile — asymmetric by design. Fiber (GPON, Ethernet) is roughly symmetric.
